Just 21 years after World War One came to an end, Europe found itself at the centre of another global conflict.  This time the battlefield was much closer to home and the Regent Street Polytechnic’s central London location meant that the threat of air raids was very significant.
Nevertheless, the Polytechnic spirit endured and the institution pulled together to maintain its teaching and social activities and provide support to its members in the armed forces.
In this online exhibition, using the University Archive’s digitised resources, we examine the Poly’s wartime experience between 1939-1945.
